Visual Budget - Finances App Reviews

I planned my retirement using this app for two year beforehand. Excellent!

When I started my home business I looked for an app that would suit my needs. I didnt want to spend a fortune trying out a bunch of unknown apps but decided to give VB a shot. No regrets. Awesome app. Super convenient. I have not yet encountered a need that VB doesnt cover. UPDATE: Still using the app after 18 months in business and still find that the app meets my needs. UPDATE2: 3yrs & counting!

I love how it shows what my balance will be in a month or two, helps me plan a lot better.

This app is very helpful and quite easy to use. I would recommend it. However, after using it for 9 months, I had an issue that I contacted Customer Service for help on. After back and forth by email several times, I discovered I had inadvertently placed a check mark in the wrong place and could not get back to my itemized records. My problem was solved by exploration on my own but I had a very big complaint about the Service Reps rude, patronizing and disrespectful response to my honest query. Accusations were made against me for not checking FAQ (which I had done several times to try to resolve the issue) and my blaming the App for the problem, (which I did not do -I only asked for help). Conclusion, the App is great - the Customer Service and Help forum needs some work!

I love this app. Ive always kept track of personal expenses but this app just makes it so easy. Ive customized the transaction names to suit my needs and having receipts saved right in the app ensure I never lose a receipt again.

Keep all your accounts under one group, when you pay your cc for example, it moves it in tandem with the chequing account. Graphs, future transactions, budgets, PDF reports, etc . From an accounting perspective, its more consumer-oriented, but its easy to figure out if youre a professional what everything means. Although, I wish T accounts were in this app. The list of transactions acts as a journal, though. One sore point is that you cannot backup the database to the cloud -- you need to sync your phone in iTunes, then go to the Visual Budget app within iTunes to save it to your computer. Otherwise, good app for consumers to keep track of purchases to figure out spending trends.

We just finished one year of tracking expenses as we went into retirement. The program is very intuitive with the categories easy to edit or create. Each trip we took had its own category to compare travel types. We did not use it for monitoring income so we have no comment there. All expenses are converted to Canadian funds which is our home currency. Might be nice to have an exchange feature but not a big issue. Back-up to iCloud is fairly easy. The app answered our questions and I highly recommend it. We will continue to use it for year 2. Next stop, north to Nicaragua.

Free version gives you only 10 transaction for the month really ? Just like all the apps who ask you to buy the pro version. Waste of time

This latest version, 1.38, is much faster now. I have an iPhone 5, and it was slowing down with more entries, but it seems the app is much faster. Worth the update. [Original review, which is still relevant:] I use it all the time. Database is uploadable to iCloud and locally. Csv and pdf export also. Budgets could be better.

I use this apps systematically to follow my spending related to specific activities (such vacation) or project (such renovation). The fact we may have multiple accounts in different currency at the same time and toggle between them is a great functionally. Im not the kind of person who follow is spending on a daily basis, but this apps seems really good as well for this (except I dont thing it download and auto-classify entries from banking account).

Its great does what it needs to do, the learning curve might take a few tries but works perfectly.

Been using it for over a year and its great! I would like to be able to copy a transaction. It doesnt make sense to set up a recurring transaction for something like gas, but it would be nice to just copy and edit the previous one.

This app is awesome however I wish it had sign in feature so you could access it from multiple devices instead of just one

Report tools are very useful.
